About us
Welcome to Change Your Cevre, a group of students at Gaziantep University that care about making our campus a better, cleaner place. Our club started in Spring 2014 when English Language Instructor David Schlenker decided to help students practice their English while giving back to their community. After countless discussions with different student groups, he realized that environmentalism and recycling were two topics that were often overshadowed on campus. After an initial meeting of 175 students, faculty and community members, a leadership team of eight dedicated, driven and passionate individuals came together to charter the university’s newest club, “Change Your Cevre.”
Now, with the support of Yabanci Diler Yuksekokul, the project is ready to begin initiatives to sustain a new recycling program, awareness campaigns, campus cleanups, and community organizing. We’re looking for students, faculty members and administrators who are willing to set aside a small chunk of their time to ensure our world remains intact for years to come. If you’re a passionate and open-minded person with a yearning to see effective change, Change Your Cevre is the right movement for you!
Change your community. Change your Cevre.
